A shirt for the person, not the cat

Adult wearing a cat face tropical shirt at home

Look up shirts with cats on them and you will find tiny shirts made for cats. These are the other kind: a men's camp collar shirt in sizes S to 6XL with your cat printed into the pattern, polyester printed all over by dye sublimation. From a few steps away it reads as a bright tropical print. Up close, the whiskers, the ears and that unimpressed look show up between the hibiscus and the palm leaves.

It works as a birthday gift for the friend who talks about the cat more than anything else, a matching shirt for a family photo, or a way to keep a cat who has passed close by. You can order a single shirt, since there is no minimum. Pet Face Tropical Vibes is a good place to start: it sets one to five pet faces among hibiscus and palm leaves, in seven background colors.

Getting a cat to sit for a photo

Phone screen showing a photo with its background removed

Cats rarely pose on request, so take a burst of shots instead of one. Sit at their eye level near a window, let them settle on a favorite spot, and wait for a moment when both eyes are open and in focus. A soft sound or a toy held just above the phone can bring the face toward the lens. Skip the flash: it flattens dark fur and turns eyes into green or white dots.

Upload a JPG, PNG or WebP up to 8 MB. The background is removed automatically and for free. When a photo has no person in it, the whole animal is cut out, so crop close to the face before uploading for a cleaner result. A pale cat on a pale blanket or a black cat on a dark sofa is harder to separate, so check the outline of the ears in the preview and try another shot if it looks soft.

One cat, two cats, or the whole household

Designs differ in how many photos they take and where they put them. Custom Funny Face Icon tucks one to four photos behind a flamingo, a pineapple, a watermelon or a leaf, each with its own name of up to 15 characters, across 12 background designs. Pet Face Stars & Stripes Happy Paws uses the same idea with summer icons, a name for each pet and a Stars & Stripes background.

Family & Pet Tropical Leaf sets one to three faces behind monstera fronds on an emerald lagoon print, with eight leaf backgrounds to choose from. Custom Photo Funny Family & Pet Face Color Sunset repeats one to three faces across six spots on a painted sunset, with six silhouette icons such as Flamingo Float and Palm Tree Island. People and cats can share the shirt in any of them, so the whole household fits on one print.

Choose the size for the cat person

Hawaiian shirt laid flat beside a measuring tape

Every shirt is a men's cut from S to 6XL at one price. Measure a shirt the wearer already likes, across the chest from armpit to armpit and then from shoulder to hem, and compare with the size guide. Chest measured flat runs from 20.5 in on S to 35.5 in on 6XL, and length from 29 in to 37 in. Measurements are taken by hand, so allow about an inch either way.

Every shirt has a relaxed camp collar. A chest pocket is a free option, printed so the pattern lines up across it. Since there is one men's cut only, a smaller adult can compare the S chest and length with a loose shirt they already wear. If you are buying a set for a family photo, send each person the size guide rather than guessing from a picture.

Prices for one shirt or the whole family

Tropical shirt print with pet faces among the leaves

One shirt is $39.90. The price per shirt drops as the cart grows: $35.90 each for two, $33.90 each for three, $31.90 each for four to ten, $28.90 each for 11 to 49 and $25.90 each for 50 to 99. Different designs count together, so the cat can be on one print and the dog on another in the same order.

US orders from $79 ship free, and we ship only within the US. Allow extra time in November and December for printing and delivery, and read the shipping policy for the current terms. On an individual order you can still change the photo, design or size, or cancel for a refund, during the first 24 hours after checkout. Have a dog too? The dog page covers dog photos and layouts.

Questions about this collection

Adult in a tropical shirt printed with small repeated cat faces, with a real cat on the sofa nearby

01Is this a shirt for my cat?

No. It is a shirt for a person with your cat's face in the print. We make men's sizes S to 6XL only and do not sell pet clothing.

02My cat never looks at the camera. Will a side angle work?

A face turned slightly is fine if both eyes show and the fur is sharp. Upload a few photos and compare them in the free preview before you choose.

03Can I add my cat's name?

In some designs. Custom Funny Face Icon takes a name of up to 15 characters for each photo, and Pet Face Stars & Stripes Happy Paws has a name for each pet.

04Can a cat and a dog share one shirt?

Yes. Any design with more than one photo space takes both. Family & Pet Tropical Leaf takes up to three faces and Custom Photo Pet Face & Family Tropical Background up to six.
